Looking back to a time before COVID-19 was the biggest topic of conversation in the UK, there was Brexit. The all consuming national debate divided the nation and the implications affected every element of British society. 

Home store marketers in Britain were preparing for a ‘Boris Bounce’ in the housing markets, with people demonstrating more confidence to buy, upgrade or improve their living arrangements. In anticipation, our team ran an analysis to understand the impact of this and how foot traffic to home stores and DIYs would change, or if indeed they would. 

In this edition of ‘The changing behaviour series’ Emily Cowles-Naja examines what happened to the home improvement sector once COVID-19 hit the UK, lockdowns were introduced and people had more time at home.
