The changing behaviour series: webinar – Consumer vs. confidence

Since the announcement by the UK government for employees to return to work “if you can” on 10th May, there has been a steady decline in the accumulation of new COVID-19 cases. To avoid fresh spikes in cases the country is managing the easing of restrictions cautiously, with retail and service businesses scheduled for reopening on 15th June.

As employees begin to return to work and people start socialising again, there is solid evidence of increasing footfall in some sectors. Some of these sectors will benefit quicker from these changes but will need to work hard to persuade consumers to actually spend.
