Happy hour will be taken to the next level at OMD’s offices from now on, after the media agency was crowned the industry’s cocktail-making champions by Blis last Friday night.
OMD was up against UM, Blue 449, M2M, 303 MullenLowe, PHD and Initiative in the Blis Golden Shaker Grand Final, and while not having tasted success in the previous two years, the Omnicom-owned agency did enough to claim overall honours.
Wowing a crowd of raucous onlookers and judges (including B&T’s very own news editor, Huntley Mitchell) at The Calyx in Sydney, OMD created the scene of Woodstock festival, with a tipi on stage, outrageous Hawaiian shirts and a debaucherous speech about festival antics.
The agency’s winning drink was aptly named ‘The Hendricks Haze’, and was the unanimous winner amongst the judges.
Having won the Blis Golden Shaker Grand Final last year, Initiative received an honourable mention for best performance for with a show-stopping routine to the tuneSmooth Operator.
UM was recognised for having the best-tasting drink, which included smoked rosemary, passionfruit, lime, bitters and gin.
