When Facebook is down, Twitter is king. That was proved out last evening when all social media services owned by Facebook were down for six hours. After hours of speculation, Facebook blamed the outage on an internal technical issue with no evidence that user data was compromised. And while that is good news, consumers and brands alike had to pay the price (and inconvenience) of having one tech giant as the sole owner of – almost – all the biggest social networks across the globe. But this time, Twitter had the last laugh.
